Q-What styles of classes do you teach?
A-During the pandemic, I sought to deepen my own knowledge and obtained certification as an RYT 200 with additional certifications in chair yoga and restorative yoga. Since then, I also enjoy teaching these yoga classes.
Q-What advice would you give to someone just starting their yoga journey?
A-I truly believe that yoga is not one-size-fits all practice. There are many styles and modifications to meet different needs and abilities, meaning people of all ages, fitness levels and body types can find what works for them. Yoga truly is for everybody and every BODY.
Q-What classes and workshops do you offer?
A-As I am a lifelong educator and have worked with children in some capacity almost my entire life, children's yoga is my passion and I am excited to offer yoga for youth at Sukha Inspired Yoga. In addition, I look forward to supporting other classes in other ways when the opportunity arises. I absolutely love offering self-care workshops for adults, specifically classroom teachers and have done this multiple times in the past and am excited to explore this type of offering at Sukha.
Q-How do you continue to deepen your own practice and knowledge?
A-As I continue to deepen my own practice, I am exploring advanced children's yoga specialty certification, such as inclusive yoga for all children. I am also in the process of completing a mindfulness and medication course.
Q-Are there any future projects, events, etc you are working on?
A-I am so excited to be on this journey of teaching and learning with Sukha!
Q-What inspired you to become a yoga teacher?
A-I was inspired to become a yoga teacher back in 2014 when I specifically sought children's yoga certification in order to bring it to the PreK classroom I was teaching in. I knew that it would only benefit the children that I was teaching, helping them to form a strong foundation of social and emotional self-regulation, confidence and overall wellness! I completed certification in 2015 and have been teaching children's yoga and family/adult child yoga ever since then.
