Kate has been pursuing well-being in educational communities for over twenty years. A former health and physical education teacher turned educational leader, Kate specializes in professional learning that inspires collective wellness. As a leader, Kate seeks to evolve building-wide systems with care and compassion, supporting the humanness of both work, and life. Kate created and leads the ‘Mindful Middies’ program at Rosa Parks offering staff and students authentic opportunities to engage with self- and co-regulation strategies. She also provides district-wide professional learning in the areas of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Currently, Kate is excited about leading the Rosa Parks community through a year long learning journey in trauma-responsive practices. Kate resides in Dayton, and has a lovable Labrador Retriever named Nellie.
