NOrth Therapeutics

Jordan North:Owner & Founder

Q-How do your personal values align with your business mission?

A-As a licensed professional counselor and mental health educator, I place a lot of importance on educating oneself with humility and curiosity. I also believe that compassion and empathy – towards ourselves and others, can build a foundation which allows us to be the best versions of ourselves, and the best community members for our neighbors.

Q-How do you stay connected with the local community?

A-North Therapeutics is on the resource list for our local school district: Northmont City Schools. Additionally North Therapeutics is listed as a provider for Dayton Children’s Youth and Family Resource Connection. Jordan has provided mental health education at the Dayton Metro Library and other local pillar organizations as well.

Q-Can you share a fun or memorable moment you’ve had with a customer?

A-Getting to see my young clients come to me with unique challenges and just a general lack of hope and then to be able to encounter them years later, happy and successful, is always one of the best parts of the job; especially when they credit tools and techniques we worked on together as helping them succeed!

Q-What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting their own business?

A-To be persistent and courageous; if you know you have the skills and experience to make a difference in your community, you owe it to yourself and others to give back what you can in the pursuit of supporting those who need it when and where you can.

Q-What’s your go-to way to relax after a busy day?

A-Spending time with my wife and dog Ellie. Reading, watching animation and playing video games as well as scoping out one of Dayton’s many tantalizing and exciting new eateries on the weekends!

Q-How can people best support you?

A-Coming in for a free consultation to see if my services are right for you! If you or your family have never tried therapy before, now is a great time to offer yourself the time and space to work out some of the many challenges we may face within the context of modern living.

Q-What inspired you to start your business?

A- The desire to make connections in the Dayton area with the goal of making mental health education and counseling services accessible to a wider portion of my community. I saw a need for more affordable mental health resources in my area and wanted to use my expertise to provide services to my WHOLE community, not just a select few who could afford it.

Q-What makes your business unique?

A-As owner of North Therapeutics LLC I provide direct and indirect services to a wide range of populations. Starting my career as a school-based therapist and school counselor has allowed me to specialize in treating adolescents and young adults and tackle a range of issues from questions of identity to management of ADHD and Autism symptoms. North Therapeutics LLC is also a black-owned business.
